Gus Garcia, a founding father of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, is a human and civil rights activist and an international businessman. He is president and founder of Garcorp International, a multifaceted organization that specializes in domestic and international public and governmental relations, private investigations and security, medical security consulting, and domestic and international business development.

Mr. Garcia is actively involved as a consultant in domestic and international political campaigns, and has organized over 150 political campaigns in the United States and Latin America. He is also a Latin media expert with a client list that includes the largest Latino-owned U.S. radio corporation. He has served as a consultant to various U.S. environmental groups and has organized major Latino media and grassroots campaigns throughout the nation.

Mr. Garcia was an Al Gore delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2000.  In 2004, he was a delegate-at-large during the National Democratic Convention in Boston. The Florida Democratic Party named him the Director of Cuban-American Outreach for Victory 2004. He has served as the national co-chairman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Speakers Trust, and executive director and consultant for the Miami-Dade Democratic Party.

Mr. Garcia is currently the Legal & Governmental Affairs Director and founding member for the Democracy Movement; National Chair of Lambda Theta Phi Foundation and Lambda Theta Phi Institute; and National Chair of Solidaridad Inspiracion Amistad (Solidarity Inspiration and Friendship) Community Foundation.

A few of the many honors bestowed on Mr. Garcia for his tireless efforts are:  Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Alumnus Award from the National Board of Lambda Theta Phi Fraternity; Outstanding Hispanic in Casino Law Enforcement from La Tribuna newspaper; Mark of Excellence Award from the Florida Department of Professional & Business Regulation; Outstanding Work In Reaching Out to All Communities and Activism in Defense of Human Rights Award from the Dade County Democratic Party; Citation of Merit from the Borough of The Bronx; Letter of Recognition from Senator Bob Graham;  Award from the 11th Annual Southwest United States Student Conference on Latino Affairs; City of Miami Proclamation declaring Agustin "Gus" Garcia Day; and a key to the City of Miami Beach.

Mr. Garcia been a plaintiff in numerous national and international human and civil rights cases that include among many others the “Dead Voter” case in a City of Miami mayoral election and a Hispanic homeless person vs. the City of Miami.

As a nationally recognized Latino motivational speaker, Mr. Garcia has spoken on many college campuses, dozens of high schools and many corporations and institutions throughout the nation. He is nationally recognized by the media for his expertise in Latino affairs, Latin America, political corruption, immigration, human and civil rights, as well as the Latinization of the American nation.
Mr. Garcia graduated from Kean University in New Jersey with degrees in political science and history. He takes great pride in his heritage and continues to be firmly committed to serving his community.
